The iCAT provides 3-D views of critical structures for complete TMJ analysis, allowing the doctor investigate and diagnose bone morphology, joint space, and function - all critical to TMJ dysfunction treatment and care. Most importantly, the iCAT can help the doctor to understand exact tooth/ bone position and relationship of abnormal anatomy, when treating orthodontic, TMJ and air way issues.

Three-dimensional imaging provides more accurate viewing of the teeth in relationship to other anatomical structures and fosters accurate treatment planning. Using a 20 second, high-speed scan, the iCAT captures TMJ open jaw views quickly and accurately and can detect restricted airways. Once the doctor has reviewed the scan, he can determine appropriate treatments.

Joint Vibration Analysis / Jaw Tracker top

Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA) records the vibrations produced by the jaw when it is in motion. Designed to only capture the "sounds" of the jaw joint, it accurately quantifies the amount of vibration from the jaw and allows the doctor to understand how the joint is impaired (because of clicking, popping, etc.) and categorize it. This technique will also assist the doctor in monitoring the progress of treatment.

The Jaw Tracker (JT) uses a small but strong magnet to record the way in which the mouth opens and closes and the position which is most comfortable. With this understanding, the doctor can better design an oral appliance to rehabilitate the TMJ and secure it in an aligned and comfortable position.

LUMIX 2 Laser top

Lumix 2 is a desktop laser instrument with a pulsed diode that provides peak powers of up to 40,000 mW for the most effective photonic tissue penetration. This device is FDA cleared and uses patented technologies. For use in physical medicine, wound care, dentistry and acupuncture. The device is non-ionizing, non-invasive and will not heat damage the skin.

Airway evaluation is an intrinsic part of diagnosing and treating sleep apnea. Using the ECCOVISION Acoustic Pharyngometer, which sends harmless and painless sound waves down the airway to measure its diameter, we can target the “kink in the hose” of your airway and set parameters for treatment.

Once we find the jaw position which will allow for maximum air intake, an oral appliance is custom-designed to rehabilitate the jaw in that position. This quick and easy process has been met with much success in our sleep patients.
